Re: Christain camping ministries
I didn't want to start a new camp thread, so I'll resurrect this old one. I'm taking my daughter to camp again today. This camp only costs about 100 dollars for the week. I'm surprised at how much some camps charge these days, upwards of 300 dollars. Of course, I'm not completely surprised, since not every camp program just rents facilities for two weeks a year. Some of them have to maintain their own facilities year-round.
Then after we drop our daughter off, my wife and I are heading to a motel room that we've rented. We take this one opportunity a year to spend a night together without the other kids. The past two years we've stayed in a motel that charges 50 dollars a night, but this year we found one that only charges 35 dollars. It should be interesting to see what one gets for that price.
Hey Skys, I reread what you wrote last year, and I was wondering if you had a chance to work as a counselor this year.

Re: Christain camping ministries
You ain't kidding about the cost. Our church has "youth retreats" for the jr high and sr high age kids that start at $300 (I think the high school one is $600). Their 3-day sports camp is like $130 (not over-night, just day events).
--- Peace, that brief period in history when everyone stops to reload.
