Want to help?
Leviticus chapter 18 gives prohibitions on who you can marry based on your relationship to the other person. In modern terms, what are the relationships prohibited from marriage between couples?

Re: Want to help?
So are you asking for us to put Old Testament commands to the Israelies into modern terms, or are you asking for New Testament verses that provide prohibitions for marriage?
II Corinthians 6:14 says,
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
I think this verse tell us that Christians should not marry unbelievers.

Re: Want to help?
Not that, what is your mothers fathers son? What is your sons daughter (that one is easy). The only term beyond mother, father, son, daughter that is mentioned is aunt but the family circle described is deeper than that...

Re: Want to help?
I thought (legally) you couldn't marry anyone closer than your second cousin. But it could be I was told/remember it wrong.

I know some states have laws against marrying your first cousins, so if first cousins want to get married, they just have to go to a state that allows it.
I read Lev. 18 this morning, and it doesn't say anything about cousins being forbidden to marry.

Re: Want to help?
By Leviticus 18 the relationships forbidden look like they extend down to the grandchild or up to the grandparent including aunts, uncles and step-children and other married persons when it comes to marriage.
