2016 election

There are so many Republican challengers right now that I haven't even bothered to narrow them down in my mind yet. I think there are 15 or 16.
Here is a site with a chart of polling data for the candidates.

Right now, Donald Trump is leading the Republican pack in the polls.

Well, the election is between Trump and Hillary now, and personally, I don't plan on voting for either one of them.

In my mind Trump equates to Saul (1st king of Israel), chosen by the people but not Gods choice. Even so, God did give him a chance.

Hillary equates to Jezabel (Queen of Israel), condemned by God for her multitude of sins and her stand against God and his people.

I don't really like either choice but it seems to me that Trump will begin well (ie the Supreme Court choices that are coming up) so he will get my vote.

The comparison to Saul is interesting. Yes, God gave him a chance, but wasn't the reign of Saul pretty much a disaster? He had problems with lying. He had problems with pride. His anger at an individual, David, got him into battles he never should have been involved in.

I'm not even sure Trump will keep his word about the Supreme Court choices he claims he will make.

I agree the end of Saul's reign was a disaster, that was when God rejected him completely. The beginning was a different matter, he secured some of Israel's borders. He even extended the borders a fraction and he defeated several of Israel's enemies (the Philistines, Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites, Arameans, and Amalekites). The one thing he did accomplish which was a surprise to me was the uniting of the people of Israel cementing their identity as a "national" people instead of being a ragtag group of tribes.

i haven't posted anything in this thread since the election. Even without my vote, Trump was able to win.

I'm just not sure how much will be accomplished during his term, since the Republican Party itself seems to have a pretty big fracture.

Hillary is Jezebel? Condemned by God for her multitude of sins and her stand against God and his people?

AND yet, Trump, who has committed adultery repeatedly, accused of raping a 13 yr old girl, has 75 pending lawsuits for fraud, brags about assaulting women and cheating on his taxes....doesn't know "2 Corinthians" from The Book of Psalms?? He's got a pass??

Exactly what multitude of sins has Hillary committed that are worse than those listed above?

Pastor Rick is one of the individuals who does come back from time to time to post here, so you just might get a response to this.

I can see your point about Jezebel being a way over-the-top analogy to Hillary. I don't agree with her political philosophy, but she certainly doesn't have the character baggage that Trump has.
